NCWSA National Championships report
Arvin, Texas, October 14-16, 2010

Congrats to all the Minnesota skiers who participated in the 2010 Collegiate Nationals!  We're all very proud!

In Division 1, Alison Lindy, skiing for University of Louisiana-Lafayette of skied her heart out and helped win a national team title. With big numbers in all 3 events, Alison finished 6th overall and put herself on the podium twice. She finished 5th in slalom with 2.5 @ 35 off, and 5th in trick with 2760 pts.

Heather Donen, skiing for the University of Wisconsin-Madison, skiing in her last National Collegiate Championships, finished 18th overall and helped put her team into 7th place.  With a 19th in slalom, 29th in tricks and 18th in jump, Heather finished her college career as a true leader.

Jeremy Knafla, skiing for Purdue University, put in a stunning performance and finished 21st overall.  Yes, you read that correctly--with national aspirations on the line Jeremy put up another solid performance.  On a windy slalom course he ran 4.5 @32 off and placed 20th.  With personal bests of 950 in trick and 67 ft jumping, Jeremy helped Purdue to an 8th place finish.

In Division 2, Matthew Knafla, skiing for Iowa State, placed 4th overall.  Skiing injured and battered, Matt stepped up and had an outstanding performance in his last Collegiate Nationals.  In jump he finished 8th with 108 ft, and another 8th in slalom with 1 @35 off, and a trip to the podium with a 2nd place in trick, tying his personal best of 2490 pts. This propelled Iowa State to a 3rd place finish.
